The Crimson Pig
Many events for Skies of Orlandia will happen throughout the convention. The central hub for all players to meet is at The Crimson Pig, a local casino where players can gamble for experience points(XP), meet non-playable characters(NPCs), and find out more about the game and its story.
The Crimson Pig is where you will turn in experience to level up, register or join guilds, choose factions, participate in the card game Skirmish, try your hand at games of skill, and take on quests provided by the NPCs in the casino.
It has been said that The Crimson Pig is haunted by an evil spirit who has not passed on to the next life! Enter at your own peril…

Morale Score
Morale Score will represent how well a faction is doing overall in the game. Players will support the characters of the story by accomplishing great things for them.
The following are ways to increase your faction’s Morale Score:
You may notice that your faction alignment affects the Morale Score of the faction you are in. This means that if you switch factions, the score you contribute from alignment travels with you.
However, all other points you have earned for your faction’s Morale Score stay with that faction. This means that you will have to play very well to surpass your past accomplishments when joining a new faction.
The Morale Score of each faction will play an important role in the story of the game. By participating in the game and improving the morale of your faction, you are shaping the very future of Orlandia!
—————————————————
Factions
There are four factions in this year’s game. All have their importance to the story and even their own classes you can obtain as you level up.
When you join a faction, your primary goal will be to support that side by increasing their Morale Score. NPCs leading your faction will guide you in doing just that.
In Skies of Orlandia, the Morale Score for each faction will play into how the game turns out. You can also change alignment at any point during the weekend if you wish to help another faction out.
—————————————————
Guilds
Guilds are groups of players that will team up throughout the weekend. Guilds will be recognized by Orlandian government as a legitimate group and there will even be specific contests designed for registered guilds to take part in.
In order to register a guild to be officially recognized, you must have a guild name and at least three players registered to get things started. The players in the guild can be aligned with separate factions if they want to be.
—————————————————
Leveling Up
For each faction there will be multiple levels that you can achieve the title of. By earning XP and turning it in to the managers of The Crimson Pig, you will increase your level officially and be given a level indicator to display on your game card for everyone to see!
If you reach the max level, you will be entered for a prize raffle drawing that will take place at closing ceremonies. You have to be at closing ceremonies in order to receive your prize if your name is drawn. You can still keep playing the game at the max level and even help your friends out too!
You can earn XP just by doing the things one would normally do at an anime convention. This could be done by going to panels or contests. There other are ways you can earn XP that several of the following sections will detail.
—————————————————
Skirmish
Skirmish is a fast-paced player vs player card game that is popular in Orlandia. It tests both luck and skill and is the favored game of chance at The Crimson Pig.
In order to play Skirmish, you must have an opponent and you both must have enough XP to wager. From there, find a casino manager who is free to deal cards and officiate the game.
You can read more about the rules of Skirmish here. For each game, the XP pot will be earned after a player has won 2 out of 3 rounds of play.
—————————————————
Miscellaneous Player vs. Player
While Skirmish is the official player vs player game in Skies of Orlandia, players can compete against each other for XP in a variety of different ways of their choosing.
Whether it’s Rock-Paper-Scissors or a contest to see who can get the most cosplay photos in ten minutes, anything is fair game for competition!
As long as the terms of PVP are agreed upon by all competitors and are not interrupting panels and events or breaking convention rules, players are free to have as much fun as they want!
—————————————————
Games of Skill
In addition to matches of Skirmish going on, there will be games of skill set up in The Crimson Pig. These are games similar to what one would see at a carnival. Find some players to compete against, wager some XP, and see who can win!
Several times each day, a tournament of these games will be organized for multiple players to compete in and represent their guilds and factions. Known as the “Great Orlandia Games,” these competitions will be a chance for players to raise the morale of their faction.
—————————————————
Scavenger Hunts
The characters of Skies of Orlandia will need your help to find missing pieces of important items that are scattered throughout the convention! These items can be ancient artifacts or powerful weapons.
When the time comes, a faction arbiter will make an announcement on the stage of The Crimson Pig and give out clues as to where the pieces can be found. From there, do your best to find them!
Finding a part of an item and turning it in to your faction arbiter will earn you XP. If all the necessary parts of an item are found, thus completing the item, then that faction will have their Morale Score increased.
Now if it is discovered that you found an item, enemies may foil you by challenging you to PVP as you try to deliver it safely to your faction arbiter. If you lose the PVP match, then you will have to give up that item.
—————————————————
Quests
The tried and true method of adventuring and earning XP is to go on quests!
Visit your faction arbiter to learn of a task that must be accomplished in order for your side to gain a step closer to victory. Many of these quests will consist of odd jobs and tasks to be completed all in the name of good fun!

Go forth… Adventurers!
You now know what lies ahead for you in the Skies of Orlandia! You can be a hero or a villain and can even switch between those roles throughout the game. Many allies and rivals will be made and lots of fun will be had. This is only the beginning of your legend!
