About Anime Festival Orlando

Since 2000, Anime Festival Orlando, also known as AFO, has brought quality anime and Japanese culture-themed entertainment to fans in Central Florida.

AFO has always hosted classic convention events, like the Happy Happy Cosplay GO GO GO Cosplay Contest, the AMV (Anime Music Video) Contest and fan-run panels throughout the weekend. Fans shop for unique wares in the Vendor Room and one-of-a-kind works of art in Artist Alley. They play video games in the Video Game Room and tabletop games in the Tabletop Game Room.

Over the years, the convention has developed unique experiences like Game Show Theater and Tales of Orlandia. Throughout the weekend at Game Show Theater, fans test their knowledge and skills in a series of Game Shows, led by their hostess The Countess. As they play games, they collect points that can be spent at the Game Show Theater shop for prizes, similar to tickets in an arcade.

Tales of Orlandia is a Live Action Convention Experience with an exclusive card game called Warriors of Orlandia. Guided by NPCs, players join factions, and the winning faction determines the end of the story. Each player also earns points for themselves, with the first and second place winner receiving recognition and prizes at closing ceremonies.

AFO exists to encourage the appreciation of Japanese culture within the anime and video game fan communities of Orlando. Our community has the best fans, and we’re focused on providing excellent content and encouraging fans to be excellent to each other. To our dedicated fans, we thank you and look forward to seeing you again and again. And to our newest fans, we can’t wait for you to join us on our journey of over two decades.
